I started my shop in 1988 after brief employments with New Life Industries of Somerset, Ky. (a christian t-shirt manufacturer) and Craycraft Signs of Lexington, Ky. These experiences were very rewarding because this is where I learned the ropes of sign-crafting and professional art and design.
Artcraft Signs is a one man shop specializing in traditional signcrafting. What do I mean by traditional signcrafting? Simply put, I still do things the old fashioned way. I use wood for the majority of my flat painted signs. I still do hand lettering.
My pictorials are hand painted. Much of the letterstyles I use are hand drawn, even though I cut them in computer generated vinyl, and my carved signs are hand carved.
Also, like the old turn of the century signcrafters, I feel that a good design and an eye-catching color scheme is the most important element in any sign. After all, my mission is to "Make You Stand Out From the Crowd." Each sign is uniquely custom designed to fit your need.
I also integrate modern technology in signcrafting. I do all designs by computer, so that I can give the customer a rendering of the finished sign. I also use 3M Premium vinyl which is plotter cut on a Summa D60 Vinyl Cutter.
I'm not a one day sign shop. My projects are custom designed and hand made, which take a little longer to produce, resulting in a sign that will convey image, professionalism, and set YOU apart from the crowd.
